George Stanko For Mayor

Why I am running for Mayor of Sarnia?

I am not a Politician. I am an experienced Engineer and a Leader.

I am a Chemical Engineer with over 35 years of experience in the Chemical/plastics industry in Sarnia and later as President of CORE Bio-Fuel.

Sarnia has been my home for over 50 years, and it is your home too. As a father and a grandfather, my roots run deep in this community. I built my life and raised my family here, and I care deeply about the legacy we are leaving for the next generation, as well as the family we have now.

In the 40+ years since Sarnia amalgamated with the town of Clearwater, the population of our city is virtually unchanged. During that same period the Industrial tax base has declined. The city does not have a business-friendly reputation. Our city has stagnated.

During the last four years our City has continued to see a lack of growth and has at times been mired in dysfunction and controversy.

I do not need the role as Mayor, nor the money. I want to see a more vibrant, prosperous and welcoming  city for every citizen . We must treat everyone equally with dignity and respect.

Sarnia needs new strong leadership with a bold vision to grow the city and create the environment that will attract new business, create jobs and improve the future for everyone.

My commitment is to lead as a growth mayor: bring partners to the table, remove municipal barriers, protect essential services, and make City Hall easier to work with for residents, builders, employers, health partners, young people and seniors.

As mayor I will bring Accountability, transparency, growth and common sense to City Hall. I have a detailed plan to make that happen.

Leadership matters!

MY PROMISE:

Sarnia will be an innovative city with a diversified economy, welcoming neighbourhoods and excellent quality of life at every age. Growth must be responsible, measurable and shared across the community.

MY ASK:

On Oct 26 vote George Stanko for Mayor
